Global Economic Meltdown; Blessing in Disguise?
In its relentless pursuit for reducing the domestic lending rates, the RBI has announced a 50 basis point rate cuts on 4th of March 2009. The earlier reductions have not yielded any substantial results, except few gestures by some PSU banks- one here and another there. It is still intriguing to see that India`s official rate of inflation is hovering around 3 percent but the Prime Lending Rate is still in the 12% above range. Even at this rate latest data suggests that the country is witnessing respectable growth in investment. But with the latest rate cuts, it is anybody`s guess that the lending rates may come down or not, though knowledgeable sources feel that it may remain sticky at the current levels.
It is still confusing to watch that in US or Japan where the interest rates are in the vicinity of 1% or so, neither credit is flowing nor investment is picking up. Contradictions galore- as many developed countries are now becoming a terrified and fearful cluster, Indians are foolishly aping their sentiments, even at the drop of a hat. Without appreciating the inherent strengths of this great country, everybody is sensationalizing and highlighting the negative trends and waxing eloquently on recession without understanding the meaning of it.
So, amidst such sense of insecurity, confusion and fear psychosis, financial markets meltdown, growing threat of terrorism etc, let us look into the mystery of future through the divine astro-eye and attempt to unravel the heavenly changes that are taking place from 8th March 2009. Yes, Mars the planet of passion, aggression and war is moving to Aquarius and will be in opposition to Saturn, the planet that indicates tragedies, suffering, troubles and delays till April 2009.
Indian General Elections
This planetary influence according to Vedic astrology indicates the unfolding of some untoward events such as rise in the level of violence, war rumors, and atrocities both at the individual and collective level. It signals a time of tension, aggression, and confrontation - perhaps the worst kind in recent times, which may adversely influence the fourth coming general elections, including IPL matches (if they are held!)
However, stars alignment after May 17 , 2009 onwards indicate ex termly positive outcome of general elections and over all economy going forward.
Both Mars & Saturn are powerful energies that can cause enough disturbances to the mankind. Keeping a low profile and postponing new initiatives would help minimize possible failures, injuries, accidents and other damages. During this (March 8 to April 19) period one needs to be careful during the period March 7 to 18 and 24 to 28. The days of March 30 & 31 could be too difficult as Moon will once again be receiving a cruel aspect from both- Mars and Saturn in Taurus. In April be careful from 6th to 15, 2009. India VS Pakistan
As I mentioned in my earlier article “26/11: India under astro lens” (December 2008) that there might be decisive war with Pakistan in near future due to frustrating periods of Venus-Ketu. It’s not surprising the way things have unfolded in Pakistan ever since 26/11 Mumbai terror attack were carried out by the terror groups operating from Pak soil. Now that country finds itself in deep trouble. The law of KARMA is inevitable. It is something like Newton's third law of motion, which states, 'For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction'. Therefore, during this planetary influence people involved in inauspicious deeds (Terrorists) may face the worst time ahead, especially in next 40-90 days.
In perspective, you may be surprised to know that how only half an hour difference in the birth time of both Bharat and Pakistan indicates an entirely different political structure with unique approach and destiny. Pakistan was born when Aries (lagna) sign was rising on the eastern horizon and its ruling planet is Mars that signifies aggression, army and conflicts. As we all know Pakistan has been largely ruled by the Army and almost never enjoyed democracy over a long period.
On the other hand Bharat’s lagna was Taurus and its lord is Venus, the Goddess of love and material prosperity-needless to say India adopted democracy and based its foundation on the principles of non-violence and secularism. That is why in astrology rising sign (Lagna) and its lord is most important as it signifies head, mind, thinking and over all personality.
Bharat is passing through Venus Maha Dasa since 1989, needless to say in these 19 years Bharat has become a surging economic power only next to China and the country has established its credentials throughout the world as the next economic super power in the times ahead. perhaps during six years Sun Maha Dasa that begins in September 2009.
On the other hand, In Pakistan’s astro chart Venus is not favorable as it is the lord of second and seventh house. Venus was placed along with Sun, Mercury, Saturn and Moon in the fourth (signifies internal affairs-heart, peace, comforts. masses etc) house at the time of birth, was not very comfortable. And at the moment they are also going through Venus’s Maha Dasa. Pakistan has hardly made much progress in these last 19 years. Pakistan has remained poor country and their external debt has increased to alarming levels and terrorist camps based on their soil have earned them a bad reputation.
Venus along with Jupiter is considered as the mythological thinking faculty which signifies wisdom and higher knowledge. These planets influence us to practice more humane and respectable value systems in our ordinary conduct of life. The western culture which nurtures ruthlessness through their hire and fire policy is fundamentally alien to the Indian cultural values and ethos. Hence in the name of globalization and liberalization, running endlessly after pleasure, happiness and material possessions does not auger well with our country’s astrological make-up. Hence the latest global financial meltdown is certainly a blessing in disguise and an opportunity for desisting from over-indulgence.

I feel vindicated myself when last month throug my article in the Banking & Industrial Growth - Annual published by Madras based Trinity Mirror (Makkal Group).
My article was propagating the idea that India is largely insulated form the Global Economic Crisis and will be the least affected country in the world by this crisis.
India do possess all the basic socio-economic features to become 21st Century Super Power of the World, as Mr.Mukesh Ambani `s statement.
Mr. Aryan, go ahead and fight to convince the world that India is not in the bind of a recession as is immaturely publicised by the media. Tell the Indian Business people to start pampering Indian consumers instead of continuously exporting the best quality products at cheaper rates than offered to domestic comsumers. Start relooking to Indian market which itself is so huge for them to sustain.
